Overview of the Training Program

Summer Intensive Program Plan

The training year for first and second year cohorts begins on June 1 starting with a  remote three-month UM Intensive program. Training activities during the intensive include course instruction, individual mentoring, and combined cohort activities. Trainees also work with their UM mentors to gain experience and skill in methods and technologies. Trainees present an update on their progress at the end of the first summer and a scientific review of their project at the end of their second summer.

(Please be aware that as a result of a lessening of travel restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, trainees will have the opportunity to receive grant support to spend the month of July 2023 at the University of Michigan.)
